We currently have a few spaces available for both experienced fixed wing and helicopter fliers but, for the foreseeable future, we are accepting very few novices who want to train for the BMFA 'A' certificate for fixed wing models.
Under-18's must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
We also offer a social membership for anyone who would like to join in with our social events but does not want to fly.
We do not offer training for helicopter flying and would refer you to one of the professional training schools. However, if you don't have a BMFA 'A' certificate but have gained the skills needed to hover safely, you will usually be able to fly as long as a member holding at least an 'A' certificate stands with you. Informal help and advice is often available from other members at the heli field. We do have an examiner available once you are ready to take your 'A' certificate.
Please note that new members joining, for either helicopter or fixed wing, will be asked to fly with a club instructor/official for a safety assessment.
If you would like to join the club, please read our Constitution and Rules, and Privacy Notice first. You will need to attend one of our monthly club nights to meet the club secretary and sort out an application. In the meantime, if you would like to print off an application, please click here.
Remember, from 1 July the BMFA exemption expires and you must display your CAA Operator ID on every model that you fly.
